Ataxia Ireland Holiday at Donamon – 2nd-8th July, 2016

An excellent week was had by all in mixed weather which, however, didn’t interfere with any of the planned activities.  As well as the annual staples such as Fishing, Shopping (which was particularly popular this year), a visit to the Races and Yoga, this year there was also One to One Reiki, a Ready Steady Cook competition, and a big hit was the visit from Wild Encounters when members had the opportunity of holding exotic creatures such as a corn snake, a meerkat, a chinchilla, a bearded dragon and a white owl.

In the evenings, apart from DJ’s, there was the usual Table Quiz a Cocktail Evening and another night the Two Willies (comedians) arrived in full Garda uniform and participated in the Murder Mystery, master-minded by Clodagh, in which everyone present had a character role, with the ‘perpetrator’ being revealed on the last night!

So, all in all, it was a fun-filled week which everyone, members and helpers, all enjoyed.

If you have never been on an Ataxia Ireland Holiday, perhaps you might like to join us next year!
